More points:

The best way to get enough points is to spin 
the other cars. Especially when there are more
cars around, so they start sort of a chain 
reaction. This way your car is not gona damage.
Mass accidents are also cool, but it'll hurt you!


500 extra points:

Start a race and then restart it.  Tap the triangle
button before your car shows up and you will get 
500 extra points.

Get easy points: 

If you are on a trial, where the way crosses
another way, try to hit a crossing car on its
side. If you are lucky the car will start 
spining, and rolling. (Sometimes also looping)


Get free cars: 

When you have saved your Smash 4$ game, go into
the garage-menu, and buy a very expensive car, 
and use all your money to upgrade it. Now save 
the car, and turn of your PSX, or go out to the
main menu. Now your car will be playable when 
you play Battle.
